In class we were asked to draw an object that we had brought into class. In my case, I had a USB drive. With the form drawn, we then had to take apart the shapes and rearrange them to create some kind of pattern. We then traced the images onto the computer into illustrator and began creating our final pattern. Once the pattern was done in black in white, we then had to create three more using different color schemes: two complementary colors, three same saturation colors and one of our choice. Here is what I came up with.

The assignment was simple, create any object using black and white construction paper. I wanted a challenge, so I picked a Jack of Spades. Using a xacto knife, I carefully cut the white paper to form a Jack of Spade with the negative black space.
