3D Design: Cardboard Final Project – Weight Bench
For my 3D design class, our project was to replicate an object using only cardboard as the medium. I choose to replicate a life size weight bench with the bar bell and weights. Bench press is fully functional, except for actually laying on the seat. Each piece was measured to a life-size scale and made completely of cardboard and glue. Here are a few pictures: (click to enlarge)

This is truly incredible!! I’ve never seen anything like this in my life, great work!
Hey thanks for commenting on my blog. You’re work is pretty cool. I can’t believe you go to Towson…I go to MICA, and I’m a GD major there. coincidences, huh?
Thanks, And yeah that is a coincidence.. A few of my teachers were from MICA, how do you like it there?
This is amazing!
I showed it to Emma and she couldn’t believe how good this was! Next you need to do the Bowflex
this looks great, the dimensions are so life like it gives the illusion that it is no longer cardboard but the real thing.
very cool also. cardboard is the future!
I really like it. I’m starting my sophomore year in the fall and I’m excited to start my major. Foundation year gets old pretty fast. There are some really out-there teachers but the GD department is pretty down to earth and we have awesome equipment. I love the 3d printer…i really want to make my friends into action figures for the hell of it, cuz when else am i going to have access to a 3d printer??
do you like Towson?
